Actun Tunichil Muknal

Actun Tunichil Muknal, Cave of the Stone Sepulcher in english, also known as the ATM cave since they only teach you to pronounce it once you are inside, is a cave that is not trivial to get to and has ancient Mayan artifacts and ancient Mayans inside. To get there it is a fairly long drive on dirt roads and a 45 to 69 minute hike in the jungle fording a river several times. Once you reach the cave, then you have to head in about a kilometer upriver in a cave before you reach the Mayans and their artifacts. Assuming you can handle the hike, swim and caving, it is worth the trip. My pictures only capture a hint of what it was like in the cave.
